Indiana Winters & Fun Updates

Well, it's Indiana everyone, we knew this was coming.  With frigid cold temperatures for the next 10 days at least, I thought I'd give you some light reading.  Hopefully you'll find the funnies and enjoy the next 3 minutes of your Sunday.

1.  Frigid temps mean the following things.  Probably more but this is just a start.

Paw care - boots and/or pad balm if you walk regularly.  Boots can protect dogs from the road salt which is way more of an issue than sidewalk salt.

Potty issues - it's cold.  Scoop an area.  Go out with them periodically to ensure they've actually gone and not just stood by the door.  Yes, it is cold.  Yes, it will suck but the fresh air will do you good.

Brain games - if you aren't outside much consider some homemade (FREE) brain games for your dog to help them burn off steam.  You'll also get a good laugh as you watch them enjoy themselves.

Step 2:  Be sure time and date work for you

Step 3:  Show up at the NEW Ireland Animal Clinic 5-10 minutes before your reservation time.

723 E. Jefferson Blvd.  South Bend, IN  46617

3.  Adolescent Training - all of our COVID babies are growing up.  If you are struggling with challenging behaviors, obedience struggles and generally fed up with how your (formerly) adorable pup is behaving now that he/she is growing up....EARLY INTERVENTION is key to getting your struggles under better control. Most of these things won't just magically "get better" as they mature.

The Adolescent Day Training Plan

2 days a week for 3 weeks

4 hours of day care, 1 hour of training (additional day care can be added)

Socialization with peers to ensure you create a friendly dog

Obedience skills:  Sit, Down, Loose Leash Walking, Relaxation on a Mat, Coming when Called, Wait and Stay and much more.

Biggest BONUS?  Your dog is being trained and cared for by a professional dog trainer and Registered Veterinary Technician.  Oh and you get a break from the puppy shenanigans.  Ready for a break?
